Students, private firm staffers among 9 arrested in Bengaluru for peddling drugs

Bengaluru: Nine men, including seven from Kerala, were arrested on charges of peddling drugs worth around Rs 4 crore. The seized drugs include 3kg of hydro-ganja, 50 grams of MDMA, 500 grams of charas, 500 LSD strips and 10kg of ganja.The accused are aeronautical engineering student Kushal Gowda, 23, from Kogilu; law student Shashank, 28, from Rajanakunte; private company employees Sagar, 29, from Maralavadi and Ashir Ali, 36, from Akshayanagar; cabbies Wilson S, 48, and Riyaz from Doddakammanahalli; techie Abhinav D, 22, from Devaraja Arasunagar; Shihab KP, 30, and Abul Nassir, 28, from Electronics City. “The network of the accused is large; they have contacts in pubs, bars, hotels, private companies and educational institutions. We need to question them about their potential buyers. Most of the drugs were smuggled into Bengaluru from Kerala and Andhra Pradesh,” a senior police officer said.
