ADGP’s suspension revoked; to retire in May

Chennai: Tamil Nadu home department revoked the suspension of additional director-general of police H M Jayaram, who was placed under suspension following his arrest in connection with the kidnapping of a juvenile boy from Thiruvalangadu in Tiruvallur district in June 2025.The case was linked to an incident in which the boy’s elder brother eloped with a woman from Theni district near Madurai. After the juvenile’s abduction using a police vehicle came to light, H M Jayaram was placed under suspension in June last year. A departmental inquiry was also initiated. Now, the govt has revoked Jayaram’s suspension. The 1996-batch IPS officer, a native of Ramanagaram in Karnataka, is scheduled to retire from service in May this year.
