Vadodara: The son of a retired police officer was booked by Akota police on Tuesday night for creating a ruckus on Old Padra Road while allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.The accused, Virendrasinh Zhala, was taken to the police station after he was suspected of being drunk. According to police, Zhala drove past a group of friends near Vasna Crossroads, including the complainant Nikhil Zhala, and came very close to them, causing momentary fear.Nikhil told police that the group chased and intercepted Zhala some distance away. Following a medical test, police confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol.Zhala, who allegedly earlier claimed he was a police officer, was booked for drunken driving and offences under the Prohibition Act by the police.
