“I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey,” said Arijit Singh on Tuesday as he announced that he will not be taking up any new playback singing assignments. The announcement led to widespread speculation, with social media quickly linking his decision to a song from Border 2.The chatter began after a blind item appeared on Reddit late Tuesday night, claiming that Arijit was unhappy after being allegedly forced to sing a recreated patriotic track. The speculation pointed towards Ghar Kab Aaoge, a reprised version of Sandese Aate Hain from Border, used in Border 2. The song also features Sonu Nigam, Vishal Mishra and Diljit Dosanjh.
When Hindustan Times contacted Border 2 co-producer Bhushan Kumar, he dismissed the claims. “Please call and ask Arijit. It’s all rubbish,” he said.
