Chandigarh: An unidentified person stole gold and diamond jewellery, cash and some US dollars from a house in Sector 41, prompting the Sector 39 police to launch an investigation. The complainant, 80-year-old Subhash Chander Khurana, reported that the keys to his locker had been missing for the past three days.Khurana told the police that he kept his valuables in a locker inside his house. When he was unable to find the keys, he called a locksmith on Monday to open it. The locksmith broke open the lock, and Khurana discovered that the jewellery, around Rs 1.50 lakh in cash and some dollars kept inside were missing. He then searched the entire house but could not locate the stolen items.Khurana told the police that he suspected the involvement of his domestic helpers, adding that no other outsider had visited his home in recent days.Acting on the complaint, the Sector 39 police recorded his statement and began questioning both maids.
