FSDA suspends licence of 4 mfg units

Kanpur: Food security department launched inspection drive against packaged drinking water units operating in the district to check compliance with quality standards. Acting on directions of Kanpur Nagar district magistrate, a team of food safety officers inspected 26 packaged drinking water units, of which 10 were found closed. During inspections, violations of prescribed standards were detected at several operational units. Based on deficiencies observed, a recommendation was sent to central licensing authority for suspension of licences of four units. Simultaneously, food licences of four state-licensed units were suspended and further action was being initiated.The units whose licences were suspended include M/s Prabhu Kripa Enterprises of Panki Industrial Area, KS Tasty Drinks and Refreshment Solutions of Yashoda Nagar, Santosha Industries of Govind Nagar and Satyam Enterprises of Hanspuram, Naubasta.Similarly, centrally licensed units recommended for suspension of licences are M/s Daddy’s Enterprises (Udayganj, Panki), M/s Prayag Pack (Ispat Nagar), M/s Vivan Enterprises (Rooma), and M/s HD Drinks & Beverages (Sachendi).District magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh said quality of packaged drinking water could not be compromised and warned of strict action against units found violating the prescribed standards.
