Chennai: DMK general secretary Duraimurugan announced on Tuesday that the DMK will start its poll campaign from February under the title “Tamil Nadu Thalaikuniyadhu” (TN will not bow down). Twenty star campaigners of the party will hold public meetings in all the 234 constituencies.Star campaigners were handpicked by chief minister M K Stalin, the statement said. The list of star campaigners include ministers Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, R S Rajakannappan, Kovi Chezhian, MLAs N Ezhilan, Inigo Irudayaraj, MPs Dayanidhi Maran, Tamizhachi Thangapandian, S Jagath Rakshakan and DMK functionaries such as Sabapathy Mohan and Dindigul I Leoni.Apart from public meetings, DMK functionaries and star speakers should engage with prominent personalities, youth, students, NGOs, educationalists, and entrepreneurs at the district level by holding indoor meetings with them, Duraimurugan said.Duraimurugan asked functionaries at the district and zonal levels to make arrangements for the public meetings and indoor meetings. The decision to launch the campaign was taken at the DMK district secretaries meet held at the DMK headquarters on Jan 20.
