WARANGAL: A nine-month pregnant woman was killed in a road accident after a truck ran over her near Pothana Nagar in Warangal on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as S Mamatha (32), an assistant professor at a private medical college in Warangal.The incident occurred when Mamatha’s husband, S Raghavendra, was riding a two-wheeler after picking her up from the college. As the couple was heading towards Pothana Nagar, a truck coming from behind rammed into the two-wheeler. The truck then ran over Mamatha, resulting in severe injuries to her abdomen and right leg. Mamatha was immediately shifted to a private hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment. Police said the truck driver, identified as Nejam Ansari, is absconding. A case has been registered and an investigation is currently underway in the case.
