Assam Rifles base attacked in Arunachal’s Changlang, no casualty

Itanagar: Armed miscreants opened fire on the Assam Rifles Company Operating Base (COB) at Ranglum in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district on Monday morning, officials said.According to defence sources, the COB came under fire from two directions around 8.45 am near border pillar no-168. Assam Rifles personnel retaliated effectively, and operations are still underway.

No casualty has been reported from either side so far. Security columns in the vicinity have been placed on alert, and additional forces are being rushed to the area to cordon and neutralise the attackers.Changlang superintendent of police Kirli Padu confirmed that a police team has been dispatched to gather details, though information from Assam Rifles is still awaited.Officials have not identified the group behind the attack.
