Two brothers injured in road rage attack in northeast Delhi

New Delhi: Two brothers were seriously injured after they were attacked with sticks and batons during a road rage incident in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur on Monday.According to police, information regarding a quarrel was received at Seelampur police station around 5.15pm on Jan 26. A police team rushed to gali no. 6, Gautampuri, where it was found that the injured men were already shifted to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital and were later referred to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital due to the seriousness of their injuries.

The injured were identified as Ishtiaq (38) and his younger brother, Ikhlaq (28), both of whom were employed at a bakery near an engineering college in the area.A preliminary inquiry revealed that the quarrel began when one of the brothers was crossing the road in front of the bakery and had a minor collision with two men riding a scooter. An argument followed, after which the scooter riders left the spot. They soon returned with several other associates.The group then allegedly attacked the brothers on the road. When the injured attempted to flee, the attackers allegedly chased them inside the bakery and continued the assault.Both brothers sustained serious head injuries.A case was registered.
