Patna: A 22-year-old bike thief died after his speeding motorcycle collided with a truck on NH-31 near Kauanagar Pani Sadara in Baisi police station area of Purnia district on Monday. The deceased was identified as Himanshu Kumar of Siwan district. Police said the motorcycle was stolen from West Bengal and Himanshu was part of a three-member gang fleeing with it. While he died instantly, the two pillion riders escaped. Police seized the bike, sent the body to GMCH, Purnia, for the postmortem, and launched a search for the absconding accomplices.
