Goa Cong leaders hold talks in Delhi ahead of 2027 polls

Margao: A delegation of Goa Congress leaders met the party’s national leadership in New Delhi on Tuesday to discuss political developments and preparations for the 2027 assembly elections.The meeting was attended by AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi, and general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal. Discussions focused on strengthening party organisation and expanding public outreach in Goa. The Goa delegation included GPCC president Amit Patkar, leader of opposition Yuri Alemao, AICC Goa in-charge Manikrao Thakare, and Congress Working Committee member Girish Chodankar.Alemao said, “Several issues related political developments were discussed.” Earlier on Monday Alemao wrote to speaker Ganesh Gaonkar, demanding disciplinary action against a minister for offensive hand gestures displayed by him (Minister) in the recently concluded assembly.
