Shillong: The budget session of the Meghalaya assembly will be held from Feb 16-27, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) decided on Tuesday.The state budget would be presented on Feb 20, speaker Thomas A Sangma stated.The speaker said the ten-day session would comprise seven days of gov business and three days of private members’ business. He added that sitting hours may be extended, if required, to enable members to “effectively participate in the proceedings of the house”.The BAC meeting, which was chaired by Speaker Sangma, was attended by the deputy chief minister in charge of parliamentary affairs, Prestone Tynsong and others.The leader of opposition, Mukul Sangma, and some other BAC members participated in the meeting through online mode.
