Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday began an executive education programme at Harvard University’s Kennedy School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, marking a rare academic engagement by a sitting Indian chief minister. The programme commenced with an orientation and cohort introduction session on Sunday afternoon local time.Revanth has enrolled in the course titled ‘Leadership in the 21st century (chaos, conflict and courage),’ scheduled from Jan 25 to 30. The programme opened with a session on ‘Analysing authority and leadership,’ setting the tone for intensive classroom engagement.

Classes began early on Monday, starting at 7 am and continuing till around 6 pm. The curriculum includes large class case analyses, consultative group work, assignments and group projects. The cohort comprises participants from over 20 countries spanning five continents, offering a diverse global learning environment. The CM will complete coursework, submit assignments and collaborate with international participants, according to the CM’s office. The programme focuses on analysing leadership case studies drawn from different regions, historical periods and governance contexts. Participants are required to develop solutions in groups and present them during classroom discussions. On completion, Revanth will receive a course certification from Harvard University — a first for any serving CM in India, the CMO said. The Harvard visit follows CM’s participation in the World Economic Forum at Davos from Jan 19 to 22. The CM proceeded to the US for the Harvard programme after the Davos tour.After completing the course at the Kennedy School, Revanth is expected to return to Hyderabad in the first week of Feb.
