Poll outreach: BJP rolls out video vans in Barak
In a dynamic move, the BJP has kicked off an engaging grassroots initiative in Assam’s Barak Valley. By deploying nine video vans, they’re not just sharing their development success stories but also actively listening to the concerns of the electorate.

Silchar: With an eye on the Assam Assembly elections, BJP on Sunday launched a grassroots outreach campaign across the Barak Valley, signalling an early push to strengthen its organisational base in the region. The campaign was formally flagged off at the Silchar Town Club ground, where Assam minister Kaushik Rai, accompanied by BJP MLAs and a Rajya Sabha MP, set nine video vans in motion to carry the party’s message directly to voters. The Barak Valley initiative is part of a larger statewide exercise, under which 103 such video vans have been deployed across Assam’s 126 assembly constituencies. Of these, nine vans have been earmarked for the 13 assembly segments in the Barak Valley.Party leaders said the outreach aims to showcase BJP govt’s development initiatives over the past few years while also collecting feedback from the public on local issues, future priorities and governance needs. The emphasis, the leaders said, is on direct, face-to-face engagement with voters in every constituency to build momentum well ahead of the polls.Addressing the gathering, Rai said the campaign is a targeted effort to connect directly with people and understand their aspirations as the party prepares for the 2026 assembly elections. “This outreach will help us take development narratives to the doorstep of the people and also listen to their concerns,” he said.BJP plans to sustain the campaign in the coming months as part of its broader electoral strategy for the state.
