Kanpur: Dr Shashank Srivastava (50), the in-charge medical officer posted at the community health centre (CHC) in the Gursahaiganj town of Kannauj for the last 10 years, was found dead on the floor of his residence at the CHC on Sunday evening, police said.Kotwali police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem. Police are investigating the incident.According to employees, the doctor had been having disputes with his wife for several years. Dr Srivastava went to his residence around midnight on Saturday. When the cleaning staff reached the residence on Sunday morning, the door did not open. When Dr Shashank did not come out of the residence, health workers peeked through the window and saw his body.On being informed, town outpost in-charge Deepak Chaudhary reached the spot. The staff informed CMO Dr Swadesh Gupta about the incident. Dr Shashank, a native of Dehradun, Uttarakhand, has a son and a daughter. His parents live in Lucknow . SHO Ajay Awasthi said, “The family has been informed. The cause of death will be known after the post-mortem. The incident is being investigated.”
