“Om” (ॐ) – This is a sacred sound and mantra, which is considered to be the power of the universe and the symbol of God.

“Shanti” (Shanti) – It means peace, peace, happiness and purity of mind.

Use:
In Hinduism, “Om Shanti” is used at the beginning of prayer, meditation or any auspicious work.

It is also spoken to wish for peace after death (eg: “Om Shanti, Om Shanti, Om Shanti” – Prayer for Shanti three times).

It is also prevalent in Buddhist and Jainism.
