Jaipur: Team RPC edged past Team Malarpan 7-6 in the Jaipur Polo Season’s first exhibition match — Raghu Sinha Mala Mathur Memorial Cup — at the Rajasthan Polo Club Ground here on Saturday.Lokendra Singh Dhirawat, Vishal Singh and Bhawani Singh Kalvi scored a couple of goals each, while Mayurdhwaj Singh Talabgaon contributed a goal for Team RPC.For Malarpan, Padmanabh Singh delivered an outstanding performance, scoring five goals, while Ranshay Purohit chipped in with a goal. Other players representing Team Malarpan included Mirza Mohmmed Baig and Pratap Singh Kanota.Director General of Police, Rajasthan, Rajeev Kumar Sharma was the chief guest and distributed the prizes.Earlier in the day, the semi-final matches of the Rajmata Gayatri Devi Memorial Cup were played at the PPC Ground. The first semi-final was played between Team Jindal Bedla and Team V Polo, in which Team Jindal Bedla emerged victorious against Team V Polo with a score of 7–6. From the winning side, Siddhant Sharma scored three goals, while Himmat Singh Bedla and Phill Seller scored two goals each. Venkatesh Jindal also played for the team. For Team V Polo, Santiago Marambio gave an impressive performance by scoring six goals. Other players included Vivaan Mehta, Divyamaan Dujod and Salim Azmi.The second semi-final was played between Team Rambagh and Team Optiemus Achievers, where Optiemus Achievers won the match with a narrow margin of 6-5.5. For Optiemus Achievers, Shamsheer Ali and Daniel Otamendi scored three goals each, while Savir Mehraj Godara and Aryamaan Singh also played for the team. From Team Rambagh, Alejo Aramburu scored three goals and Dhruvpal Godara added two goals. Yogendra Singh Shekhawat and Siddhant Singh also played for Team. Team Rambagh also received a half-goal handicap advantage.The final of the Rajmata Gayatri Devi Memorial Cup will be played on January 25, at the Rajasthan Polo Club, which is scheduled from 3:30 pm. The final will be contested between Team Optiemus Achievers and Team Jindal Bedla.
