Kolkata: The fourth Sundarbans Bird Festival kicked off on Friday. The inaugural and orientation session of bird festival was held at Sajnekhali Beat complex.“Six teams have started their journey to record avian species and number of bird occurrences in Sundarbans Biosphere Reserve for the next three days — Jan 24, 25 and 26. Among the six is an all woman-team,” said a senior forest official. Participants from across the world and different parts of India are taking part. Each team has participants, a resource person and a staff member. “The teams will return on 27th, sharing the data and pictures collected,” said the official. tnn
