Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) reviewed several circular agendas and special sanctions approved between November 2025 and January 2026 at its ordinary meeting held on Friday. The meeting was chaired by Brigadier Rajeev and attended by chief executive officer Arvind Kumar Dwivedi, local MLA Sri Ganesh and nominated member Bhanuka Narmada Mallikarjun.Among the matters noted were the re-allotment of garbage lifting works in Trimulgherry and Bolarum, removal of unauthorised advertisement hoardings, extension of a manpower contract for a special school at Rasoolpura, and applications received through the Department of Telecommunications e-services portal.
The Board considered a proposal to revise the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees on par with Govt of Telangana employees, with effect from 1 July 2023. The DA was increased from 30% to 33.6% of basic pay and will be paid along with January 2026 salaries. Arrears from July 1, 2023 to December 31, 2025 will be credited to General Provident Fund accounts, with special provisions for employees retiring by April 30, 2026 and those under the Contributory Pension Scheme/ NPS. The annual financial implication was estimated at approximately 76 lakh.Annual contracts for housekeeping and medical and healthcare staff at SVBP Cantonment General Hospital, Bolarum, were approved following tenders floated through the GeM portal, with L1 bidders selected at a profit margin of 3.85% on minimum wages.Approval was accorded for procurement of a vehicle for official use at a cost of 28.3 lakh, within the approved budget of 40 lakh. Licence fees were proposed for wine shops, permit rooms and bar-cum-restaurants at 500 per square foot of plinth area per annum, with garbage charges fixed at 100% of the licence fee.The Board extended conservancy contracts for garbage lifting and transportation until February 28, 2026 or until finalisation of fresh tenders. The extension was necessitated due to cancellation and re-tendering of earlier bids, with a consolidated tender floated on January 13 and bid opening scheduled for February 3. It also approved contracts for security services, door-to-door garbage collection at DGQA staff quarters, and estimates for water supply improvements, building maintenance, road repairs and drainage works across the Cantonment.Consent was granted for the Rasoolpura Junction Road Development Project proposed by GHMC, and the Board approved a committee report on utilisation of assets affected by elevated corridor works under SH-01 and NH-44.SCB also accepted the proposal for consolidated utilisation of affected assets, including expansion of the main office building, reconstruction of the Bowenpally circle office, and construction of a TB centre at a location to be identified by the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO), Hyderabad and Cantonment Board.–
