Prayagraj: Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati of Govardhan Math, Puri, said that Hindu youth must incorporate their religion into their thoughts and actions, and then religion will be reflected in their conduct. He also said that the younger generation is vigilant and aware, and youngsters must be prevented from going astray through the power of philosophy, science, and practical application.He said the cow and the Ganga are the soul of India, but without political will, both are barely hanging on.
“To protect human life, Maa Ganga must be restored to her original form. Strict measures must be taken to stop the indiscriminate exploitation of nature in the name of development and to prevent the toxic waste from factories and the filth of metropolitan cities from polluting the sacred rivers,” he said.On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, the Puri Shankaracharya also took a bath in the Sangam with his disciples.
