Gurgaon: Residents of Tulip White, a residential society in Sector 69, have flagged concerns over unauthorised encroachments near their locality, citing safety risks, traffic congestion and rising incidents of disorderly conduct.The Tulip White residents’ welfare association (RWA) has submitted a complaint to the district town planner, seeking action against what it described as illegal hutments and street stalls along the approach road leading to the society.According to the complaint, the encroachments have narrowed the road, frequently obstructing movement and making entry and exit difficult for residents as well as emergency vehicles. “The road is increasingly congested, and daily commuting has become a challenge for residents,” the complaint noted. The association also flagged concerns over public safety, alleging frequent altercations, loud disturbances and instances of public drinking in the vicinity. It said residents, especially women, children and senior citizens, feel unsafe, particularly during evening hours.An RWA office-bearer said the situation had created an atmosphere of insecurity and urged MCG and other concerned authorities to conduct an inspection of the area and remove the unauthorised structures at the earliest.District town planner (enforcement) Amit Madholia said a team is likely to visit the site soon. “Based on the report, necessary action will be initiated,” he said. Urban planning experts said encroachments along arterial roads are a growing challenge in the city, often leading to traffic bottlenecks and law-and-order concerns. “Encroachments not only affect traffic flow but also compromise public safety. Regular monitoring and enforcement are essential,” an urban planner said. MCG officials have not issued a formal response yet. Residents have urged authorities to act promptly, warning that continued inaction could further strain infrastructure and affect the quality of life in the area.
