Lucknow: Chief secretary SP Goyal chaired a meeting of the Project Monitoring Group on Friday, where he directed officials to ensure that the first phase of the Major Dhyan Chand State Sports University in Meerut is completed by March 31, 2026.The second phase has to be completed by Aug this year, where, in addition to construction, the creation of necessary posts, furniture and other facilities should also be ensured. The CS was informed that 80% of the work of the first phase was completed.Goyal said that sports colleges and centres of excellence have to be set up in all divisions, for which adequate financial provision should be made in the upcoming budget.While reviewing the construction of the International Cricket Stadium, Gorakhpur, Goyal told the nodal officer to conduct weekly meetings to ensure regular monitoring of the project. For the upcoming Museum of Indian Temple Architecture in Ayodhya, he said that, along with the museum construction, the development of the approach road, streetlighting and other necessary infrastructure facilities should also be carried out simultaneously. tnn
