Minimum temperature rises to 17.8°C in Ahmedabad on January 23, likely to dip in coming days

Ahmedabad: The minimum temperature in the city rose to 17.8°C, which was 5.3°C higher than normal. It was a gradual rise over the past two days, as the India meteorological department (IMD) forecast indicated chances of the temperature going around 14°C on Saturday. On the other hand, the maximum temperature at 26.6°C was 1.4°C lower than normal.“Fall in minimum temperatures by 2 or 3 degrees during the next 24 hours, gradual rise by 2 to 4 degrees during the subsequent three days. Thereafter, no large change is very likely over the region,” the forecast for Gujarat mentioned. Meteorologists attributed this unusual fluctuation to the presence of a Western Disturbance and changing wind patterns across North India. This shift has resulted in a brief period of overcast skies and increased humidity in several districts, leading to a temporary departure from the typical dry winter chill expected this season.
