Varanasi: Under the Additional Director General of Police, Varanasi Zone, Piyush Mordia, ‘Police Mitra’, is being initiated in all nine districts for the general public to report criminal elements and anti-social activities. Mordia launched this system on Friday.He said that the objective of this system is to obtain information available around citizens and include them in the noble effort of strengthening law and order. Under this, any person can now directly reach the police confidentially, without revealing their identity, to report information related to any illegal activity.One can register information on the WhatsApp Bot number (7839860411) and share evidence through photo/video/audio/text. Information can also be given directly by scanning a QR Code. The identity of the informant is completely confidential and secure. Immediate and effective action will be ensured by the concerned officer on the received information.
