Aligned with the state’s ‘Telangana Rising 2047′ vision, the data centre aims to strengthen Telangana’s position as India’s leading AI and hyperscale data centre hub. The facility will be supported by a matching 100 MW round-the-clock renewable energy project, enabling carbon-free power for digital infrastructure, company officials told the delegation.The MoU was signed by UPC Volt’s leadership team comprising Volt CEO Han de Groot, UPC Renewables APAC co-founder Steven Zwaan, UPC Renewables India CEO Alok Nigam, and assistant vice president Vikas Sharma.Chief minister Revanth Reddy said the state’s ambition of becoming a $3 trillion economy by 2047 would be driven by world-class digital infrastructure while adhering to a net-zero development roadmap. He also lauded IT minister D Sridhar Babu for facilitating the investment.The data centre will source renewable power under Telangana’s Green Open Access framework, enabling a “power-first” model and enhancing sustainability credentials for AI and hyperscale workloads.Sridhar Babu said Telangana is positioning itself to attract next-generation compute infrastructure. “We are pushing to become a global AI data centre hub through incentives for high-density GPUs, large-scale training compute and liquid cooling technologies,” he said.Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy was also part of the Telangana delegation.
