New Delhi: Delhi Police’s special cell has registered an FIR against Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, chief of the banned terror outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), following his fresh threats aimed at disrupting the Republic Day celebrations.Pannun announced a $1 lakh reward for anyone who raises Khalistani flags in front of EU leaders during the celebration on Jan 26. He has announced rewards in the past too. His henchmen later told police that they did not get the money that was promised.Pannun also released a video on social media on Thursday, claiming pro-Khalistan slogans were spray-painted at some schools in Delhi.Police invoked Section 152 (acts endangering sovereignty, unity and integrity of India), Section 196 (promoting enmity between different groups), Section 197 (assertions prejudicial to national integration) and Section 61 (criminal conspiracy) against Pannun and his associates.The ministry of home affairs banned SFJ in 2019 and designated Pannun an individual terrorist’ a year later.
