MoU to help 70,000 trainees get job in export cluster

Lucknow: In an effort to make youth employable, the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT) on Thursday entered into an agreement with the Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC), Gautam Budh Nagar.Signed between the principal secretary, vocational education, skill development and entrepreneurship, Hari Om, the MoU stated that, in the first phase, NAEC will provide short-term skill training in 28 sectors to 1 lakh candidates from 18 districts, 128 development blocks and 10,323 villages of western UP in the next 5 years. Of these, 70,000 trainees will be provided employment after training in industrial units. A special feature is that 50% of the total trainees will be women, which will also strengthen women empowerment. Vocational education, skill development and entrepreneurship minister Kapil Dev Agarwal said, “The Yogi govt’s goal is that every youth of the state should become skilled and not have to wander for employment. This MoU between NAEC and SCVT will act as a strong bridge between industry and education. This will not only provide employment to the youth, but Uttar Pradesh will also emerge as the skill hub of the country.” Atal school students to also get skill training Apart from 500 secondary schools, the skill development mission will now impart training to students of classes 9, 10, and 11 across all 18 Atal Residential Schools in district. The training will cover a diverse range of trades, including healthcare, beauty & wellness, food processing, IT & ITES, and apparel.
