Agartala: Tripura celebrated its Statehood Day on Wednesday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi extending warm greetings to the people of the state and reaffirming the Centre’s commitment to inclusive development, enhanced connectivity, lasting peace, and prosperity.At a state-level celebration, CM Manik Saha conferred the Tripura Bibhushan, the state’s highest civil award, posthumously on distinguished educationist Dhirendra Chandra Dutta. Tripura Bhushan award was also conferred posthumously on former speaker of Tripura legislative assembly Biswabandhu Sen, along with screenplay writer Biplab Goswami, in recognition of their contributions.Reflecting on Tripura’s journey since attaining statehood in 1972, Saha highlighted significant progress in public life, infrastructure, and social development over the past decade under the guidance of PM Modi. He said the state’s per capita income has reached Rs 1.77 lakh, with substantial growth in start-ups and expansion of SHG.
