Jaipur: Maitri Cricket Club thumped The Rising Cricket Club by 18 runs in the inaugural match of the 52nd edition of Sharma-Mathur state-level cricket tournament, organised by the Banipark Cricket Club, at the Soni Stadium on Wednesday.Put into bat, Maitri CC scored 140 in 24.4 overs and then bundled out Rising CC for 122 in 29.1 overs to start their campaign on a winning note.Around twenty teams from across Rajasthan including defending champions Jaipur Blues, last year’s runners-up Aravali Cricket Academy, semifinalists Rajasthan Youth and SJ School Cricket Academy are competing for the top honours.Club secretary SM Mathur and vice-president Surendra Choube inaugurated the tournament.Brief ScoresMaitri CC 140 all out in 24.4 overs (Mohd Zaid 41, Vardhan Sharma 22; Jatin Savariya 6-30) beat The Rising CC 122 in 29.1 overs (Jatin Savariya 39, Sawai Singh 19, Rahul Pareek 15; Ayan Khan 3-41) by 18 runs.
