Rajasthan, who are at the third position in the Elite Group D standings with 13 points from five games, will fancy their chances against bottom-placed Himachal, who have managed just four points from as many ties. The match will be played at the new location — Anantam ground, which will be the 25th first-class venue of Rajasthan. So far, Rajasthan have won all their previous three matches against Himachal. The latest win came last year when they thrashed them by 8 wickets at Dharamshala.Mumbai are topping the Group D with 24 points, followed by Jammu and Kashmir, who have 20 points. Only the top two teams from each group make it to the knock-out phase.Rajasthan have to win both their matches and hope other results favour them if they hope to finish in top-2. They will play their seventh and last league outing against Puducherry, away from home.Rajasthan coach Anshu Jain is optimistic about his team’s chances despite registering just a solitary win in their previous five games.“Anything can happen in cricket. We are still backing ourselves to make the cut. If we win both our remaining matches, we can finish in top-2. We will certainly try for an outright win,” Jain told TOI.Both the teams had practice sessions at the Anantam ground on Wednesday morning.Earlier this month, Himachal played in Jaipur during the Vijay Hazare Trophy matches where they performed reasonably well.
