New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has arrested two men wanted in separate murder cases, both of whom had been evading arrest by moving across multiple states. One had been absconding since Sept last year, while the other had remained at large for nearly eight years. In the first case, 22-year-old Ravi, a resident of JJ Colony in Bawana, was arrested nearly five months after he allegedly beat a man to death with a hockey stick along with his associates. Wanted in a murder case registered at Narela Industrial Area police station in Sept 2025, Ravi had also provided false names and addresses to avoid detection. Non-bailable warrants had been issued against him by a Rohini court. The case relates to an assault in JJ Colony, where Ravi and his associates attacked three men — Akbar, Raja, and another person — with a hockey stick, seriously injuring them. Raja later died. “After the incident, the accused went underground and kept shifting bases to evade arrest,” said DCP (Crime) Pankaj Kumar. Ravi was finally apprehended near a CNG pump on Ganda Nala Road in Rohini after a tip-off led police to lay a trap. In the second case, 40-year-old labourer Movin Khan, wanted for murdering a man in Kanjhawala in 2017, was arrested after nearly eight years on the run. The victim, Malkhan, was found unconscious with his throat slit in agricultural fields following a quarrel over Rs 400 and a mobile phone. Khan reportedly moved frequently across Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, avoiding contact even with his family. Police tracked him over the past five months, eventually arresting him in Richhoha, Agra district, Uttar Pradesh, following a tip-off. The accused told investigators he committed the murder on New Year’s Eve, taking advantage of the holiday distractions.
