Jharsuguda: Brajrajnagar police on Tuesday busted an arms smuggling gang by arresting three persons and seizing two country-made mouser pistols, one country-made single-shot firearm, six 7.65 mm cartridges, one single-shot round, and two mobile phones from them.


The accused were identified as Sourav Yadav (21) and Aditya Sharma (19), both residents of OPM Colony, and Tushar Pattanaik (24) of Lamtibahal, under Brajrajnagar police station limits.Police said the arrested accused are being interrogated to trace the source of the weapons and to determine their possible links to a larger arms trafficking network operating in the area. “More arrests are likely as the probe progresses,” said SP (Jharsuguda) G. Reddy Raghavendra.
