Revenue employee held in graft case

Patna: The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) arrested Mohammad Imtiaz Alam, a revenue employee posted at Farhi panchayat while accepting a bribe of Rs15,000 on Tuesday. The accused demanded the money for name correction and mutation. Acting on a tip-off received on Jan 16, a team verified the complaint and caught him accepting the bribe in Araria. The full amount was recovered from him. DSP, SVU, Sanjay Kumar Verma, said Imtiaz was brought to Patna and will be produced before a Special Vigilance Court. A case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
