Thieves flee with 2.5 lakh jewellery, cash

Kanpur: In Kanpur’s Juhi police station area, thieves targeted the house of a grocery trader living near Chand Building and decamped with gold and silver jewellery worth around Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 60,000 cash. On being informed, the police arrived at the site and initiated an investigation.The thieves entered the house of Shoeb. They broke the lock of a cupboard in the room and took jewellery and cash kept in it. The value of the stolen jewellery was said to be between Rs 2 and 2.5 lakh. Police are examining footage from CCTV cameras installed nearby to identify the suspects.
