Lucknow: Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday carried out a statewide agitation to register their protest regarding the alleged damage to temples and idols during the redevelopment of Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi. Protests were organised in every district headquarters except Varanasi. Teams met local district magistrates to hand over letters addressed to the President, expressing their opposition to the redevelopment work. “This protest is a fight to save our faith, tradition and cultural heritage. Any tampering with religious sites in the name of development will not be tolerated, and accountability must be fixed,” said state spokesperson Prince Soni. tnn
