Khanna man dies of heart attack in Canada

Ludhiana: A pall of gloom descended over Katahari village in Khanna after a man from the area, Amarveer Singh, reportedly died of a heart attack in Brampton, Canada. The deceased was around 27 years old.Local sources said Amarveer had gone to Canada in 2022 for higher education. After completing his studies, he was working there as a truck driver on a work permit. They added that he planned to return home later this year.News of his sudden death has left his native village and surrounding areas in deep mourning. His father, Shingara Singh, said Amarveer was diligent in his studies and aimed to build a better future abroad. He added that the family had been preparing for his return to Punjab this year but instead received the devastating news of his passing.Local sources said Amarveer’s body was brought back from Canada to Katahari village in Payal tehsil. His last rites were performed on Tuesday after the body reached the village. Residents gathered to bid him a final farewell.Meanwhile, Payal MLA Manvinder Singh Gyaspura expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.shariq.majeed@timesgroup.com
