Lucknow: LU vice-chancellor JP Saini on Monday met dean of all faculties and heads of the departments and issued number of instructions on improving academic quality, research, technology use, and student welfare.Key decisions included giving priority to research and publications, organising at least one national or international conference in a department every year, and increasing student admissions in the university and affiliated colleges.
Faculties were advised to introduce new courses, obtain necessary approvals, and integrate their Learning Management Systems with INFLIBNET under the One Nation, One Subscription scheme. Skill-based courses, social internships for engineering students, and startup opportunities for arts and crafts students were also planned. Student welfare measures, including general and medical insurance, coordination with NSS and NCC, and setting up an Extension and Outreach Cell, were approved.
