Bhilwara police arrest four for fleeing with gutkha trader’s scooter, Rs 4L

Bhilwara: Bhilwara police arrested four men Monday, including a gutkha trader’s former accountant, in connection with fleeing with the trader’s scooter and Rs 4 lakh in the Kotwali police station area on Jan 12. The accused are being interrogated.Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh said the incident took place on Jan 12 around 11pm when Narayan Das, son of Bhagwan Das Sindhi, was returning home in the Kotwali police station area after closing his shop in central Bhilwara. According to the complaint, unknown miscreants on two motorcycles attacked Narayan Das and fled with his scooter, which also had Rs 4 lakh kept in the storage compartment. Police registered a case under different sections at Kotwali police station based on the victim’s complaint. A special police team was formed under Kotwali police station in-charge Shivraj Gurjar under the supervision of Bhilwara ASP Paras Jain and Bhilwara City DySP Sajjan Singh. Shivraj Gurjar said the accountant left the job 45 days ago and knew about the income and the owner’s home route, which is why he executed the robbery along with three accomplices. Police said the team examined CCTV cameras footage around the crime scene and, based on the criminals’ appearance, detained Kana alias Kanhaiya Lal, Vikram alias Vicky, Raju, and Kishan, for questioning. The four confessed to their crime during interrogation. All four accused have been arrested and efforts are on to recover the looted amount from them, police said.
