Lucknow: The UP govt will bring Nasscom onboard to boost artificial intelligence-led innovation and capacity building. The relationship would be formalised through an MoU between the state’s IT and electronics department and Nasscom functionaries on Tuesday. The move is being seen as a significant step in the backdrop of the state’s resolve to turn Lucknow into India’s first ‘AI City’ and push AI in all walks of life, under the realisation that India’s next inflection point in technology will be defined by its ability to build an AI-ready workforce. Officials said that Nasscom, India’s premier trade body for the IT-Business process management sector and has 3,000 plus IT companies as members, pushes skilling on emerging technologies.
Through alliance, Nasscom would help UP amplify its position in the area of future skills, beginning with AI. Other technologies in focus will be virtual reality, robotic process automation, internet of things, big data analytics, 3D printing, cloud computing, social and mobile. Insiders said that they worked at two levels, with students and also with faculty members. Some of the deliverables include extending original equipment manufacturers (OEM) certification to 2,500 participants, providing internships to 2,000 students, and handing out free assessment vouchers to 10,000 students.
