Road Safety Month: Medical camp examines drivers’ health | Kanpur News

Kanpur: As many as 593 vehicle drivers were examined at a medical camp organised under Road Safety month at Sarathi Bhawan in the regional transport office here on Monday.The medical examination found 75 drivers had weak vision, while 307 drivers were suffering from high blood pressure. The remaining 81 drivers were found diabetic. After examination, the drivers were provided medicines free of cost.The doctors of Ujala Hospital examined the drivers in the camp. RTO (Enforcement) Rahul Srivastava, assistant regional transport officer Kahkashan Khatoon and Akanksha Patel were present.The transport division is observing Road Safety Month (January 1 to 31) as zero fatality month. Besides that, the enforcement officials also launched a special campaign against unfit school buses. Under this campaign, the enforcement officers visited schools and examined their school buses and gave instructions for improvement as per rules regarding the vehicles found unfit.
