1 city, 1 pass to soon be a reality: MC chief reviews its rollout

Chandigarh: Municipal commissioner Amit Kumar on Monday held a high-level meeting to review the progress of the Chandigarh single parking pass system, a unified digital mechanism aimed at streamlining parking across the city. The meeting was attended by joint commissioner-II and representatives of Bank of Baroda, the technology partner for the project.Officials examined the proposed application and online portal for issuing digital parking passes covering all MC-managed parking locations. The review focused on system architecture, user interface, security provisions and smooth integration to ensure a seamless experience for users.The commissioner stressed that the initiative is a major step toward modernising urban parking management under the vision of “One City, One Pass – Chandigarh Parking of MC.” He shared detailed inputs with the Bank of Baroda team to enhance the portal’s functionality, accessibility and robustness.The bank was asked to incorporate the suggested modifications at the earliest to make the system citizen-friendly, secure and fully digital—improving ease of access, transparency and efficiency across parking operations.It was also decided that a follow-up meeting will be held soon to review the updated portal and finalise launch modalities for implementation at parking sites.The Chandigarh single parking pass System is being positioned as a key reform for smart governance, digital service delivery and improved urban mobility in the city.
