Gandhinagar: A delegation of Congress leaders on Monday met chief electoral officer (Gujarat) Hareet Shukla in Gandhinagar and demanded that all forms filled for deletion of voter names (Form No 7) should be verified diligently at the election registration officer (ERO) level to ensure that no names are deleted incorrectly from the voter list.A party statement said that if someone incorrectly filled out Form No. 7 without supporting evidence, there should be no room for oversight. An immediate complaint should be filed by the ERO according to the Election Commission of India‘s strict statutory guidelines to preserve the sanctity of the democratic process. The statement said that there were instances where voters complained that Form No 7 was filled out in their names, and demanded that legal action should be initiated against responsible persons in such cases.
