Ahmedabad: A public rally of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal in the Nikol area of the city on Sunday was called off after the owner of the party plot, which was rented by AAP, allegedly gave an application to the police stating that he did not want the public meeting to be held at his party plot.Kejriwal instead addressed party workers at the farm of a party office-bearer in Lodriyal near Sanand on Sunday afternoon. AAP state general secretary Manoj Sorathiya said that the party booked Uday Green party plot on Nikol-Naroda Road for the public meeting and applied for police permission for the same. “Under pressure from the ruling party, the party plot owner gave an application to the police that he did not want the public meeting to be held there,” he alleged.
Speaking to party workers at Lodriyal village, Kejriwal said AAP will oust the BJP from power in the state assembly election of 2027. Kejriwal will address a public rally in Vadodara on Monday, party office-bearers said.
