Acting on suspicion after spotting sealed parcels and black bags in the verandah of a house, the patrolling team cordoned off the spot and informed senior officers. The woman was identified as Gita Minekar . After following the procedures under Sections 42 and 50 of the NDPS Act, police searched the premises in the presence of two independent panch witnesses. Police found 10 suspicious parcels sealed with tape. Preliminary checks and subsequent testing by an FSL officer confirmed the substance to be ganja. During questioning, the woman allegedly told investigators that she and her brother, Ganesh Indrekar, were involved in storing and selling ganja, and that the stock was shifted after her brother was detained earlier at the Kalupur railway station. A case has been registered against Minekar, her brother, and her daughter under the NDPS Act.
