The Ayush health delivery system is going to be upgraded to tackle critical diseases and lifestyle ailments affecting a large population.Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that efforts are being made to elevate the Ayush centres to turn them into research hubs.

Apart from offering medical treatment to patients and visitors, shortlisted Ayush centres are going to be shaped into research and development centres which would cater to the population suffering from cancer, diabetes, heart ailments, among other kinds of ailments.Ayush principal secretary Ranjan Kumar said that under CM Yogi continuous and concrete efforts are being made to integrate Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, and Homoeopathy into the mainstream healthcare system.“Coordination between modern medicine and AYUSH systems will not only make treatment more effective but will also help in disease prevention and ensure long-term health benefits,” said the senior officer.Along with treatment, data-driven research will be carried out on the causes, their impact, lifestyle factors, diet, and AYUSH-based treatment response. The primary objective would be to establish the effectiveness of AYUSH therapies through scientific evidence. Agreements, contracts, and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) are going to be signed with private entities interested in partnering with the state govt to carry forward research work required to treat hypertension, obesity, thyroid disorders, heart disease, joint-related ailments, and mental health issues.

The state is going to engage the central research institutes and organisations to prepare the roadmap.
