Kanpur: A Jharkhand-based imposter was nabbed on Saturday, the LT Grade exam’s first day, at AB Vidyalaya (Mall Road), while impersonating a candidate from Fatehpur Khaga. AB Vidyalaya (Mall Road) was one of the centres for the 2-day LT Grade exam, conducted by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission.Cantt Police Station in-charge Arvind Ray said Saturday’s first shift biometric matching at 10:50 am raised suspicions. Renu Yadav’s match didn’t add up, prompting regional managers Amit Pandey and Jatin Arya of Innovative Agency to ask the centre in-charge for her KYC documents.When the KYC was matched, it turned out to be different. During questioning, she revealed her name as Shikha Sahu, a resident of Pachamba Goshala in Giridih district of Jharkhand.She stated that she came to take the exam in place of Renu, a resident of Rajjipur Bandipur in Khaga, Fatehpur. The station in-charge said that examination centre in-charge Pradeep Gupta has filed a case against the duo. Police are tracking her gang’s connections. She spilled that a Patna-based guy promised her Rs 5,000. His mobile location pinged near Ghantaghar Crossing, triggering a multi-station manhunt. tnn
