Two held in 5.5cr cyber fraud case | Surat News

Surat: Limbayat police arrested two persons wanted in connection with a Rs 5.5 crore cyber fraud case registered in Mahisagar district.The accused, Mohammad Irfan Hussain and Yusuf Pathan, allegedly routed the fraud proceeds through mule bank accounts before transferring the money to the Sarvoday Educational Foundation, a trust based in Mahisagar district.

Police said the trust’s bank account was used to park the cyber fraud funds.Investigators revealed that the accused received a 25% commission for transferring the money to the trust’s account. After the trust account was flagged for suspicious transactions, a complaint was registered at the Lunawada taluka cyber crime police station.Both accused were later handed over to Mahisagar police for further investigation. Police also noted that Pathan is an accused in the murder case of Kamlesh Tiwari in Surat.
