Patna: Police claimed to have solved the murder of Amit Kumar Shah, who was beaten to death with bricks and stones near Sikaria village under IIT Amhara police station areas in Patna on Dec 31.
Investigators found that his friend Satish Kumar, the nominee of a Rs10 lakh accidental insurance policy taken in Amit’s name, allegedly conspired with one Durga Devi to kill him and claim the payout. Police said the duo lured Amit before the attack. The blood-soaked body and a motorcycle were recovered, and both accused have been arrested and remanded to police custody, said City SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh.
