Ahmedabad: A 48-year-old woman in the city was cleaning a gap in her teeth with a safety pin when she got an episode of epileptic seizure.With the pin lodged in the food pipe near the C7 vertebrae, the woman experienced pain and discomfort. A team at Civil Hospital carried out an oesophagoscopy and removed the pin without damaging the food pipe.
The doctors cautioned those with a history of fits and mental health issues against using such tools to prevent such episodes.
